The First Post: Cochabamba

As “June Jumpback” concludes, we will revisit the very first city to be featured on TGP: Cochabamba, Bolivia, on March 20, 2021. At that time, only two people had signed up to receive the prayer updates. Thank you to everyone who has joined us since then, and let’s keep praying!

1. Pray for the children of Cochabamba to know that Jesus loves them.

2. Pray for the Holy Spirit to put a gospel witness into the lives of every person who plays on this basketball court today.

3. Pray for whoever put graffiti on the bricks in the picture to be drawn to new life and purpose in Christ.

What You Remember

There is no new city featured today on TGP. Please take a minute to pray for any three prayer requests you remember from previous posts. Thank you!

Every Country…

(Image from peakpx.com)

Yesterday, members of the TGP team reached another milestone: at least one city from every country of the world has been lifted up in prayer before our Father’s throne. Today, let us join in three general requests, praying for them to be fulfilled around the world.

  1. Pray for the name and crosswork of Jesus Christ to be magnified on this Lord’s Day.
  2. Pray for at least one person from every nation to be born again today.
  3. Pray for the Holy Spirit to use the Word of God to transform His children into the image of the Son for the glory of the Father.

1 Year of Prayer

Today is the one year anniversary of Targeted Global Prayer! 374 cities from around the world have been featured and prayed for, representing almost every country of the world. Thank you so much to each person who prays faithfully for Jesus to be known to the peoples of the world. For today, first of all, pray for any three requests you remember from previous TGP posts. Next, please pray especially that the Lord would direct more of His children to join with us daily. Committing to one minute of prayer may not seem that important, but we serve a big God Who delights to use little things for His glory. One minute of intercession from many of His children will, we trust, make a big difference in eternity.

  • Another milestone this past week was the ten year anniversary of Bill Hall’s devotional commentary, which walks through the gospels one verse at a time. If you would like to receive those in your inbox, follow the link below to sign up. You can also enter a particular reference (any verse in Matthew, Mark, or Luke 1-14) to look up if you ever have questions about its meaning / application.

Sohag, Egypt

Pray for the Lord to send out workers to the harvestfield of Sohag.

  1. Pray that someone working at the “Make Your Life Tasty” corner shop will taste and see that the Lord is good. (Psalm 34:8)
  2. Pray for a pedestrian seeing this view of the Nile River today, who is weary with the burdens of life, to cry out to the Lord and be saved from all his troubles. (Psalm 34:6)
  3. Pray for a group of believers in Sohag to find joy in magnifying the Lord as they exalt His name together. (Psalm 34:3)
