Eighty years ago today, US Marines landed on the islands of Wallis and Futuna. The current population of the islands is around 15,000. Pray that anyone over the age of eighty will have an opportunity to accept the gospel during the next month.
Pray for the person in Asipani with the highest IQ and the person with the lowest IQ to both trust Christ alone for justification.
Pray for revival in the heart of each Christian in Asipani.
Pray for the Lord to send out workers to the harvestfield of Galindez Island.
Galindez Island has areas claimed by three countries. The Vernadsky Research Base is Ukraine’s only Antarctic holding. Pray for Jesus to meet the needs of the twelve people living there whose hearts must be worried about what is going on in their home country.
Named after an imaginary character in A.A. Milne’s Winnie the Pooh, Woozle Hill can be approached from any direction, so encircling footprints are often seen there. Pray for someone on Galindez Island who feels like his life is just going in circles to seek Christ’s help in getting where he needs to be.
Galindez Island is part of the Argentine Islands, Wilhelm Archipelago. Pray for the salvation of the next Argentine naval officer to go to Galindez Island.
Pray for the Lord to send out workers to the harvestfield of Arue.
Pictured above is the tomb of King Pomare V. Google Earth states that it is “temporarily closed.” Although they are referring to the on-site museum, that statement is also true for the people in all graves worldwide (John 5:28-29). Pray that many people in Arue will make preparations now for their future eternal destiny.
Pray for a Christian in Arue who is being tempted by the pull of materialism to remember the lasting satisfaction he already possesses in Christ.
Pray for an athlete competing in the Arue Stadium to press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus (Philippians 3:14).
Pray for the Lord to send out workers to the harvestfield of Innamincka.
Pray for pilots landing this month on the above airstrip to think about their accountability to their Maker while they are in His sky.
Pray for workers at the trading post referenced on the sign to hear how to trade their sins for the righteousness of Christ, and do so.
Innamincka was formerly called Hopetoun. Pray for someone there who is losing hope to turn to Jesus, Whose gift of hope is an anchor for the soul (Hebrews 6:17-20).
Pray for the Lord to send out workers to the harvestfield of Tonga.
On October 21, 2021, we prayed for Niutoua, a village on the main island of the nation of Tonga. On January 14, 2022, a volcano on an uninhabited Tonga island erupted, exploding it into disappearance, covering the rest of Tonga’s islands in ash, and causing a tsunami and a sonic boom that circled the earth twice (national geographic.com). The above picture (from USA Today) shows the result of ash that blanketed Niutoua.
Pray that anyone who received Christ as a result of our prayers on October 21, 2021, will read and be comforted by the truth of Psalm 46:1-3.
Drinking water is at the top of the list on aid distribution. Pray for the Lord to facilitate efficiency in meeting needs for both the physical and spiritual Water of Life.
Pray for the Comforter to use this natural disaster to draw hearts to Himself. Pray that any international aid workers who are Christians will have / step through open doors for fruitful gospel conversations.
Pray for the Lord to send out workers to the harvestfield of Casey.
Pray that today the Holy Spirit will remind Australian scientists in Casey of any Scripture they have previously heard, and that they will respond to it appropriately.
Near Casey, a giant canyon was just discovered under Vanderford Glacier by scientists taking echo measurements from the ship Nuyina. Pray for this discovery to bring glory to God.
Casey is one of four permanent Australian stations in Antarctica. Summer in Antarctica will end in February, and most people will return home, reducing the total Australian population from 500 to 80. Pray for those nearing the end of their stay to acknowledge the eternal power and divine nature of the Creator, as revealed in nature around them (Rom. 1:20). Pray that general revelation will point them to special revelation (the Bible).
Pray for the Lord to send out workers to the harvestfield of Kagman.
Pray for each family in this block of houses to encounter a gospel witness and respond in faith.
Near Kagman is Forbidden Island, a small rocky island with a great view, but treacherous waves/currents. Pray for adventurers visiting the island (during low tide) to also see the benefit of risking all to follow Jesus.
Like most places, the Northern Mariana Islands, a commonwealth of the USA, have experienced a recent spike in covid cases. Pray for those providing long-term recovery care for family members to have a continuing sense of the care of the Lord for themselves.
Pray for the Lord to send out workers to the harvestfield of Nauru.
Nauru is one of the world’s smallest countries, at about 8 square miles with a population of 11,000. Phosphate exports provide most of the country’s income. In 1980, Nauru was considered the world’s wealthiest country, but today is one of the 5 poorest nations (borgenmagazine.com). Pray for the Lord to provide basic physical and spiritual necessities for its people.
Nauru has a small civilian police force, but no national military. (Australia has an informal agreement to defend them.) Pray for police officers on duty today in Orro (in the southwest corner of the island) to hear about the love of Christ.
Today’s weather forecast for Orro is 81° F, with breezy winds from the northeast. Pray for the Spirit of God to blow across the hearts of people in Orro, drawing them to the Son.
Pray for the Lord to send out workers to the harvestfield of Mawson.
There are currently 120 people living at Mawson Station, where it is summer. Pray for them to take actions spiritually parallel with the traffic light colored buildings above: yellow (slow down mentally to consider Who God is and what His claims are on their lives), red (stop trusting anything but Jesus for meaning / purpose in life), and green (go forward in His life and strength.)
Mawson is part of the Australian Antarctic Division. Pray for the leaders in Australia to meet Godly Christians who point the way to Jesus by their words / actions.
Only 18 people will live in Mawson once winter begins. Pray for those making preparations to arrive in a few months, that they may bring in their hearts the Friend Who sticks closer than a brother.
