  1. Pray for a truck driver employed by National Food Distributors to taste and see that the Lord is good, far surpassing the value and enjoyment of any earthly food.
  2. Pray for a mechanic who has serviced the pictured truck to meet a Christian, for gospel focused conversations to occur, and for the mechanic to be receptive to the truth.
  3. Our current map location is near Plimpton Avenue, named after George A. Plimpton (1927-2003), a talented American author known for his congeniality. In descriptions of his accomplishments and characteristics, there is, unfortunately, no reference to his religious beliefs. George had three daughters and a son, so pray for each of them to accept Christ as personal Savior.

  1. Pray for a lost person who plans to go today to cash a check at this corner business to realize the most important “check” to cash is God’s written offer to fully pay the wages of sin for anyone who believes. Pray for that lost individual to then enact that transaction with God.
  2. Pray for a Christian who will use this corner business to get help with income tax preparation to live a life of integrity, in finances and all other areas.
  3. We are not far from the Shield of David Institute, which provides support services to the disabled. Pray for someone receiving help from Shield of David to know the Son of David, and find joy in His promise to make all things new at the dawn of eternity future.

  1. An umbrella can be compared to Jesus, in that He is the One Who shields us from the righteous judgment of sin because He experienced the impact of that wrath in our place. Pray for the two people pictured above, that they will hear how to take refuge under His offer of salvation, and do so.
  2. Pray for the people who secured the white and green signs to the telephone pole, that just as they did so hoping to catch people’s attention to read their specific announcements, so their own attention will be drawn to the best announcement of all time, and that they will act on that Good News.
  3. We are currently near Bronx Community College. Pray for Christian students there to make / keep it a habit to daily sit at the feet of Christ, in Whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge (Col. 2:3).

  1. One day Jesus walked by a couple pairs of brothers who likely routinely sold their catches of fish at Capernaum’s fish market. When Jesus said “Follow Me,” they obeyed. Pray for a worker at Arubia’s Fish Market (red awning above) to have the same response.
  2. Pray for a Christian who has shopped at Fordham Flowers (corner store) to carry the fragrance of Christ into her day, interactions with others, and prayers to the Father.
  3. Turning a 360° circle at our map location shows many pedestrians. Pray for everyone who crosses the intersection today to receive a clear gospel presentation before 2025 is over.

  1. Giant Laundry offers both a self-service laundromat and drop-off wash-dry-fold services. Pray for a Christian utilizing the laundromat to leave a gospel tract on one of the countertops, and for a lost individual to pick it up and read it, really think about the message, and believe in Jesus.
  2. Next to Giant Laundry is Family Dollar (not visible in the above screenshot). Pray for the corporate buyer who is responsible for ordering merchandise for this Family Dollar to follow Jesus’ directive in Matthew 6:33, beginning with salvation and extending to victory over anxiety.
  3. Pray for a city worker whose responsibilities include maintaining the pictured streetlight to himself be illuminated by the Light of the World.

  1. This garden is a nice retreat from the normal hustle and bustle of NYC. Being in a place where one can only see things God made is an invigorating restorative to the soul. Pray for any believers who will visit the New York Botanical Garden this week to take the opportunity to be still, and know that He is God.
  2. Pray for a garden employee who does not personally know the Creator to heed the words of the One Whose plants he tends.
  3. Thain Family Forest (to the right of our map marker) contains glacier markings, pre-colonial Native American hunting paths, and trees from the American Revolution era. The fifty acre forest is the reason the entire site of the NYBG was chosen. Indeed, NYBG founding director Nathaniel Lord Britton described Thain Family Forest as “the most precious natural possession of the city of New York” (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thain_Family_Forest). Pray for a Christian family enjoying the hiking trails to pass on a faithful spiritual legacy to their successive generations that will last into the future as long as Thain Family Forest has been part of the North American landscape (or until the rapture, if that happens first).

  1. Pray for today’s cashier at this corner Deli Grocery to have a Christian customer who will plant a gospel seed, and for that the cashier’s heart to be receptive ground where the Holy Spirit can germinate the seed.
  2. Pray for a grandparent planning to take a grandchild to the Children’s Zoo today, that both of them will have and take the opportunity to become Christians in the near future. A fringe benefit of becoming God’s children is that they would both enjoy the incredible restoration of the animal world during the Millennium, when the lion lies down with the lamb.
  3. The Bronx typically has a bad reputation for reasons such as high crime and poverty rates. Pray for Christians living within today’s map area who are trying to be lights for Christ, that the Lord will bless those efforts and grant His provision and protection to His servants.

  1. A virtual tour of the Grand slam Banquet Hall reveals that the goal of the establishment is to provide an extremely elegant setting for formal events. Imagine if our prayer walk was actual instead of virtual. We would have walked 55.79 miles to get to this point, and we’d be ready for a hearty sit down meal. Imagine also that the owner of the banquet hall came out and invited us in free of charge. We would be very impressed as we entered and saw the huge crystal chandelier. Yet all of the finery of this world doesn’t even compare to what it will be like at the Marriage Supper of the Lamb. Pray for a server at the Grand Slam Banquet Hall to make reservations for that heavenly banquet, not ignoring the gracious invitation of the King.
  2. Behind the banquet hall building is a Spanish church and a COGIC prayer garden. Pray for there to be genuine worshipers at these places, such as the Father seeks, who worship Him in spirit and in truth.
  3. Pray for a self-proclaimed atheist in the Bronx to turn from being a fool to someone who acknowledges and accepts the truth.

  2. Pray for a Christian resident in the Mt. Hope neighborhood who has a terminal illness to be encouraged today by the sure hope he has in Christ.
  3. Destination Tomorrow is the Bronx’s LGBTQ+ center. Pray for someone involved with that organization to be transformed by the gospel, and testify to the reality of John 8:31-36.
