  2. According to Wikipedia, Ohrid “once had 365 churches, one for every day of the year, and was known as ‘Jerusalem of the Balkans’.” Pray for Christianity to have genuine authenticity in the lives of adherents, and not just be an outward cultural formality.
  3. Pray for people in Ohrid eating donuts today to taste and see that the Lord is good (Psalm 34:8), and be blessed as they trust in Him.

Durres, Albania

Pray for the Lord to send out workers to the harvestfield of Durres.

  1. Durres is a port city on the Adriatic Sea. Pray for the captains of these two ferry boats to personally meet the Captain Who rules the wind and waves.
  2. The largest Roman amphitheater ever built in the Balkans is in Durres. It once seated 20,000 people. That is 16.4% of the city’s current population. Pray that, before the Lord’s return, 20,000 people in Durres will become disciples of Jesus Christ.
  3. According to theculturetrip.com, Durres is one of Albania’s “liveliest” towns, with “vibrant nightlife.” Pray for someone today being drawn toward indulgent sensuality to heed the pull of God toward the best pursuits.

  1. Pray for today’s passengers entering the above bus station to secure their ticket on the only line to heaven.
  2. ArcelorMittal, the world’s largest steel company, has a factory in Zenica. Pray for crane operators there to know the joy of Jesus.
  3. Air pollution in Zenica has been a problem for the last 25 years. Pray for a good solution to be enacted, and for city residents to also find a good breath of air spiritually through the illumination of the Spirit.

Kosice, Slovakia

Pray for the Lord to send out workers to the harvestfield of Kosice.

  1. Kosice is the largest city in eastern Slovakia. Turning in a 360° circle, one can see the same expanse of buildings. Pray for people whose hearts are ready to accept the Truth to have an opportunity to do so.
  2. The Kosice Children’s Railway is a 4.2 kilometer long tourist attraction. Pray for families attending a Christmas event there December 18 to make room in their lives for Jesus.
  3. Pray for cancer patients in Kosice to have God’s hope, which transcends all difficulties (2 Corinthians 4:16-18).

Grahovo, Montenegro

Pray for the Lord to send out workers to the harvestfield of Grahovo.

  1. The above memorial is a tribute to townspeople who overturned German control of their town in 1941. Leading up the hill to it are 272 steps, each bearing the name of a person who gave his life to ensure freedom for Grahovo. Pray for that kind of courage to find resonance in the souls of today’s generation.
  2. In 1979, two years after the above memorial was built, an earthquake destroyed much of Grahovo, causing the gradual decline of the town. In 2013, the population was 3,091. Pray that between now and Christmas, the Lord will knock on the heart door of every person there, inviting them to know/fellowship with Him.
  3. Pray for the rugged beauty of the mountains to inspire awe of God’s majesty in hikers’ hearts.

  1. Pray for the Lord to send a church planter to invite families living in these apartments to come hear the good news of Jesus Christ.
  2. Mogilev features an attraction called the “Square of Stars,” which has a sundial and honors stargazers. Pray that local astronomers would be like the wise men, seeing the wonders of God in the heavens that point to the Savior. (Psalm 19:1-2)
  3. Pray for city residents who still are influenced by communist ideology to experience the truth of John 8:32.

  1. Pray for people who come to enjoy the view above to heed the Lord’s pull in their hearts to enter His rest.
  2. Old Orhei is an archaeological and historical site eight miles from Orhei. Private bike tours are offered to/around Old Orhei. Pray for cyclists this weekend to see something of the glory of God on their excursions.
  3. Pray for people living in Orhei whose names begin with “O” to hear about God’s three big O’s*, and find comfort in those truths.

  1. The above picture is from Oxford University. John Wycliffe taught there almost 700 years ago. He worked / gave his life to translate the Bible into English. Pray for the Lord to kindle a love for His Word in the hearts of many of today’s Oxford students.
  2. Pray that churches meeting in the city on this Lord’s Day will worship Him in spirit and in truth.
  3. George Mueller cared for 10,000 orphans in Bristol, a town 85 miles from Oxford. Pray for any descendants of those orphans who currently live in Oxford to be saved and living for Jesus.
