Kabul, Afghanistan

Pray for the Lord to send out workers to the harvestfield of Kabul.

  1. Humanly speaking, the sun has set on freedom in Afghanistan. Pray that the Lord will sustain spiritual freedom for all who trust in Him. (Luke 1:74-75)
  2. Pray for protection and opportunities for spiritual growth/fellowship for Christian teenagers in Kabul.
  3. Pray for the most zealous Taliban promoter in Kabul to be saved by Jesus, as was Saul of Tarsus.

Les Cayes, Haiti

Pray for the Lord to send out workers to the harvestfield of Les Cayes, Haiti.

  1. A 7.2 earthquake hit Haiti on August 14, 2021. Pray for trapped survivors to be rescued physically and spiritually.
  2. Pray for Christian rescue workers to have wisdom for how to most efficiently distribute resources.
  3. Pray for children who are now orphans to know the love of the eternal Father, and to have a good/safe place to live.

Addendum to Jackson, USA Post

On August 10, 2021, we prayed for Jackson, Mississippi. One of the requests was: “Pray for city residents who currently have covid-19 and are not Christians to accept Jesus’ pardon.” Humanly speaking, this was a random prayer request to mention. No stats were known. However, tonight I read an update from Samaritan’s Purse stating that they “are rushing an Emergency Field Hospital to Jackson, Mississippi, after a staggering surge in covid-19 cases.” Perhaps only eternity will show the difference made by all of our prayers just a few days ago. It is an amazing privilege to be on God’s team, and a humbling experience to see Him working to cause us to pray about very real needs.

At the top of every day’s post is a request Jesus said to pray: for the Lord of the harvest to send (literally, thrust out) workers into His harvestfield. The Samaritan’s Purse team on the way to Jackson is an answer to that prayer.

Let us pray again today for Jackson, Mississippi, and for those closest to eternity to make their peace with God. Let us pray for protection and effective ministry for Christian workers there. And, thank you for praying!!!

Cherkasy, Ukraine

Pray for the Lord to send out workers to the harvestfield of Cherkasy.

  1. Pray for all the mamas getting their children ready to start the school year in Cherkasy. Pray for protection for these children in all arenas, and for their spiritual growth.
  2. Cherkasy has a long and striking history, including a prominent role in Cossack rebellions. Pray for today’s citizens to end their own rebellion against their Creator by accepting the work of His Son.
  3. Pray for open doors for the gospel, and fertile ground in which it can take root.

Senafe, Eritrea

Pray for the Lord to send out workers to the harvestfield of Senafe.

  1. Senafe is a market town in the highlands of Eritrea. Just a few kilometers away, archaeologists have discovered a site believed to have once been a major trade city. Pray for archaeologists currently researching the area to find the greatest discovery of all (Col. 1:26-27).
  2. The women of Eritrea are said to be especially beautiful. Pray for them to reflect the virtuous woman of Proverbs 31.
  3. Pray for plumbers in Senafe to have a genuinely personal and growing relationship with Jesus, not just attend the Orthodox church as part of their culture.

Jackson, USA

Pray for the Lord to send out workers to the harvestfield of Jackson.

  1. Centered in the above picture is the Pearl River. Pray that when Christians going through difficult times see the river, they will be encouraged by the fact that the Lord can use those hardships to produce spiritual pearls.
  2. Pray for people named Jackson to be saved and genuinely excited about living for the Lord.
  3. Pray for city residents who currently have covid-19 and are not Christians to accept Jesus’ pardon.

Bender, Moldova

Pray for the Lord to send out workers to the harvestfield of Bender.

  1. Pray for visitors to the above sixteenth century Ottoman fortress to hear about the only fortress Who is eternal, and seek sanctuary in Him.
  2. On July 4, 1941, 700 Jews living in Bender were brought into this castle and shot. Pray for the Jewish population living in the city today to never face such an atrocity, and to find lasting spiritual peace in their Messiah, Jesus Christ.
  3. Bender has had several names throughout its history, which dates back to the second century B.C. Pray that as long as there is a city in this location, there will be Christians proclaiming the gospel there.

Pray for the Lord to send out workers to the harvestfield of Juba.

  1. Pray for all the drivers of white vehicles in Juba to hear about the Lamb Who can make their hearts whiter than snow.
  2. Juba is the world’s newest capital city (Wikipedia). Pray for the five newest lives born there to one day hear and accept the gospel.
  3. Pray for rest for the weary in this land of turmoil.

Sancti Spiritus, Cuba

Pray for the Lord to send out workers to the harvestfield of Sancti Spiritus.

  1. Pray for pedestrians along this road today to hear of the Savior Who walked the roads of ancient Israel to bring Truth to mankind.
  2. Sancti Spiritus means “Holy Spirit,” and is one of the oldest Cuban European settlements. Pray for the Holy Spirit to bring regeneration and revival to its residents.
  3. Pray for Scripture to be available to every person in the city who would believe the gospel if he/she had the opportunity to hear it.

Birdsville, Australia

Pray for the Lord to send out workers to the harvestfield of Birdsville.

  1. Pray for people who will eat at this restaurant today to discover the meaning and purpose of life.
  2. Pray for the elderly residents of Birdsville to think about the fact that that the Lord cares for them when they see/hear birds (Matthew 10:29-31).
  3. Pray for protection from domestic violence for the vulnerable, that salvation would result in genuine kindness in the city’s homes.
