Manchester, United Kingdom

Pray for the Lord to send out workers to the harvestfield of Manchester.

At this location yesterday, as Jewish worshippers gathered for the Day of Atonement, an anti-Semitic attack occurred. A vehicle was driven into people standing outside the building, and then the driver got out and began stabbing individuals. Two people were killed, and four others seriously injured.

1. Pray for the six families of the killed / injured victims, that someone from each of them would come to know the stability that only the Messiah can bring.

2. It is very sad that antisemitism has been greatly on the rise in the United Kingdom over the last couple years. How can the world – and especially the Allied nations of WW2 that have historically been bastions of liberty – have so soon after the Holocaust devolved into such terrible philosophies? Yet, we know from Scripture that the “time of Jacob’s trouble” is still ahead. Pray for many, many Jewish people to trust Yeshua for their personal atonement, that they may escape that great tribulation via the rapture.

3. Samaritan’s Purse has sent crisis chaplains to Manchester. Pray for the Lord to give them wisdom and boldness in their endeavors, and for saving faith to be the response of those to whom they seek to minister.

1. It is estimated that around 50,000 taxi vehicles operate in Tokyo, representing 333 different companies. Pray that any Christians riding in a taxi today will have an opportunity to witness to the driver.

2. In centuries gone by, the imperial palace was the home of Japan’s emperors. Pray that any living descendants of servants who once worked for an emperor would themselves become servants of the Most High God, and one day live with Him in His imperial city, the New Jerusalem.

3. Pray for a blind person in Tokyo to meet the Great Physician this month, and come to love Him.

1. In the center of the picture is a cyclist on a red bicycle. Praying for every person in Tokyo who owns a red bike to have an opportunity to personally trust in the scarlet cord of redemption that runs throughout Scripture, and to Whom all history points.

2. Yesterday there was a 6.9 magnitude earthquake near Cebu, Philippines. The Philippines have the fourth largest number of Japanese immigrants and descendants of any country in the world. Pray for the Japanese Filipinos who have been displaced by yesterday’s earthquake, that the Lord will meet their physical and spiritual needs. Pray also for any of their relatives in Tokyo who are anxiously awaiting news regarding loved ones, that the Lord will use these events to draw them to Himself.

3. It is estimated that there are about 230,000 Muslims in Japan. This number has grown significantly since 2010. Yesterday in Indonesia, a school building collapsed. In it at the time were over 100 Muslim teen boys performing their afternoon prayers. Rescue efforts are still underway for many believed to be buried alive. Pray for both Japanese Muslim teenagers and the teen boys still trapped in the rubble to see the light of the gospel of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ, and embrace the Truth.

1. So many pedestrians were visible in the 360° panaramic picture view of our current map marker. So many people need Jesus. Let us pray especially for the people in the center of the screenshots, that the Lord will give them an opportunity to trust Him for salvation, and that we will see them in heaven.

2. Pray for anyone in Tokyo who is celebrating his or her 80th birthday today, that each one will have a spiritual birthday as well.

3. Pray for adults in Tokyo who have recently lost a Christian parent to continue that legacy of faith in their own lives as a light to future generations.

Revelation 22:20

He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming quickly.”

1. Pray for the 18 pictured people to each have an intersection with the gospel message, and follow Jesus.

2. Just as in any other place, some Japanese people have made a profession of faith in the past, but since drifted away from Christianity. Pray for these five people to get right with the Lord, whether that means genuine salvation or restoration of fellowship: Mr. K, Mr. M, Ms. S, Ms. E, Ms. T.

3. Less than a block away from our map marker is a watch store. Pray for Moses’ prayer in Psalm 90:12 to find resonance in the life of the shop owner, that he may bow the knee to the only One not bound by time.

1. Today’s picture is unique in that it is the first time a subway station has been the setting for our TGP prayers. This photo is part of the Ginza Line, which at 98 years old is Tokyo’s oldest subway line. Pray for whomever the oldest person will be to walk across the pictured area and ride the subway today, that God will give him / her a clear, direct opportunity to trust Jesus for salvation.

2. Pray for the youngest person to enjoy food today at A Happy Pancake Ginza (a business at the opposite side of the city block where our map marker is) to likewise have an opportunity to become a Christian.

3. Pray for any Christians using the Ginza Line this month who struggle with an addiction to walk in the victory that is theirs in Christ.

Hamariku Gardens (Tokyo, Japan)

Pray for the Lord to send out workers to the harvestfield of Tokyo.

1. This morning we find ourselves walking through the Hamariku Gardens, originally built in the 17th century as a retreat for a well-to-do family, and currently a public park. A couple of interesting features are worth noting. First, the garden has a tidal pond that permits seawater to flow in at high tide. Second, President U.S. Grant sipped green tea here with the Japanese emperor in 1879. Pray for a Christian who will enjoy the garden’s maple and ginkgo fall foliage this season to find his soul refreshed after walking through the garden and enjoying a time of personal fellowship with the Lord.

2. Pray for the salvation of a groundskeeper working today in Hamariku Gardens.

3. Pray for an elderly person who has enjoyed several visits to the park throughout her lifetime, and will be going for the last time this fall, to be reconciled to her Maker before it is too late.
