Seymour, Galapagos Islands, Ecuador

Pray for the Lord to send out workers to the harvestfield of Seymour and the other Galapagos Islands.

1. Although there are no permanent residents in Seymour, visitors often enjoy coming to see a variety of land and marine animals. Pray for the Holy Spirit to continue working in the heart of the person in this picture who has resisted Him the longest, and for that person to repent in faith.

2. The Galapagos Islands are due west of Ecuador, and are where Charles Darwin began to formulate his evolutionary theory in the late 1830’s. Pray for someone making a pilgrimage there as a quest for truth not to fall prey to lies, but see the Creator’s fingerprints and believe in the literal Genesis 1 account of how all species originated.

3. In total, there are around 30,000 Ecuadorians who live on the Galapagos Islands. Pray for a Biblical church to be started there.

Pray for the Lord to send out workers to the harvestfield of Jabat Island.

  1. Behind the tree is a radio tower. Pray for each person involved with the tower / station to have an opportunity to tune in to the Savior’s redemptive program.
  2. There are many shipwrecks around the Marshall Islands, from the 1500’s (colonial era) to WW2. Pray for divers exploring these to also discover Christ, in Whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge (Col. 2:3).
  3. Most of the Marshall Islands are coral atolls, but Jabat is a rocky island. Pray for one family there to decide this week to build their lives on the Rock of Ages.

Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad; let the sea roar, and the fullness thereof.”

Tur’an, Israel

Pray for the Lord to send out workers to the harvestfield of Tur’an.

1. Tur’an is a village 4.3 miles north of Nazareth. About 15,000 people live there, mostly Israeli Arabs. There is an evangelical church in Tur’an. Pray for the Lord to bless them in a manner corresponding to their faithfulness to His Word.

2. Although not planned, the photo featured yesterday was located on Islam Avenue, almost the same name as Islam Street, where the photo today is located. (Of course, the two places are on two separate continents.) Pray today for a devoted Muslim family in Tur’an to come to Christ this year.

3. The street curbs of Tur’an are painted in alternating red and white, similar to a candy cane. Pray for someone using public transportation today to believe in the facts that the story of the candy cane illustrates.

Financial Requests

1.   On Easter Sunday night of 2020, a tornado destroyed the buildings of Grace Baptist Church and its Christian school. Since then, Grace has been working with FEMA to obtain some of the funds for rebuilding. Please pray for the release of those funds to occur soon. Also, the church has received a matching gift offer for the month of June. A little less than half of the offer has been raised, and there are only four days left in the challenge.  Please pray for the fullest possible amount to be given.

2.   Northeastern Baptist College is a spiritual beacon in a dark place. In April and May, evangelistic outreaches led to 473 salvation decisions. Those same two months also saw a significant slowdown in financial contributions. The end of the school’s fiscal year is June 30. Pray for many Christians to donate this week to NEBC, so that the school can end the year with a strong financial standing.

3.   In current American society, having both parents work outside the home is the norm. Financial structures and social expectations are built around that reality, making it increasingly difficult for single income families. Pray for the Lord’s wisdom and provision for all of His children who have made decisions to follow His model for family living.

Hikutavake, Niue

Pray for the Lord to send out workers to the harvestfield of Hikutavake.

  1. The photographer of the above picture was standing under a sea arch. Pray for that photographer and his family to come to know Christ if they don’t already.
  2. The entire country of Niue has a population of less than 2,000 people, and the village of Hikutavake had 49 residents in 2017. Pray for each person in Hikutavake to receive a personal gospel witness this year.
  3. There is a memorial honoring men from Hikutavake who served in the New Zealand Expeditionary Force in WW1. Pray for any living relatives of theirs to trust Jesus, the Victor in the greatest expedition of history.

Pray for the Lord to send out workers to the harvestfield of Torti.

  1. Pray for each of today’s patients at the above medical clinic to be introduced to the Great Physician.
  2. “Torti” means “wrongs, injustices,” coming from the idea of something being twisted from the way it should be. Pray for someone in Torti suffering injustice at the hands of another to be delivered, and meet the compassionate Christ.
  3. Ultimately, we have all committed torti against a holy God, as our sins are the greatest affront to what should have been. Pray for two people in Torti to come to salvation today and be declared righteous by that holy God.
