One of Our Own

Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.Galatians 6:2

TGP is a group of believers who love Jesus, care about people, and are doing something where those two facts intersect. We are small in number, but our vision is eternally grand, because it is the echo of the Father’s heart: that Jesus would be known to the peoples of the world, one individual at a time.

Today we put down our global binoculars to link arms in prayer for one of our own. This individual was one of the very earliest to sign up for TGP, and has faithfully prayed day in and day out. Now in the midst of a life-altering medical event, she needs our prayer. Three times in the past 24 hours, she has quoted lines from the song, “Each step I take, the Savior goes before me…” And He does, as He will.

Please use your TGP prayer minute today for the following requests:

1. That no matter what happens medically, she will always continue to be aware of His Presence.

2. That, if the Father wills, her recovery would far surpass the current prognosis.

3. That every family member and physician would exhibit wisdom from above in decisions to be made.

Thank you for praying!

Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever.” Heb. 13:8

IDOP for the Persecuted Church

Sunday, November 5, was the International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church. The following ten countries rank highest for persecuting Christians:

Sudan

Afghanistan

Iran

Pakistan

Nigeria

Libya

Eritrea

Yemen

Somalia

North Korea

1. Pray for the Lord to encourage Christians today in each of these ten countries, meeting their needs and speaking to their hearts as only He can.

2. Pray for Bibles to be available to persecuted Christians. Truly, it is the bread of life for all of us.

3. Pray for the children of Christian families in these nations to personally place their faith in Jesus, and be protected as they grow and are discipled.

  1. Like its US counterpart with the same name, this city was built using a grid plan. Pray for the salvation/spiritual growth of current city organizers.
  2. The monument at the bottom of the screen commemorates 75 years since the original Filadelfia Mennonite settlement began. Pray for many of today’s residents to trust in the Lord and not any good works/person.

Perth, Australia

Pray for the Lord to send out workers to the harvestfield of Perth.

  1. These arches are right by a sign for the Western Australian Museum. Unfortunately, displays there tend to promote an evolutionary worldview. Pray for a student visiting the museum today to also be exposed to the facts of the Genesis account of origins.
  2. Pray that a Christian standing at the waterfront on the right this weekend will be filled with a sense of awe, echoing the song line: “All Thy works shall praise Thy name in earth and sky and sea.” (Reginald Heber in “Holy, Holy, Holy”)
  3. Pray for a teacher at the Old Jandakot School to hear and heed one of the Master Teacher’s good lessons today.

Salzburg, Austria

Pray for the Lord to send out workers to the harvestfield of Salzburg.

1. Notice the very large rock formation/mountaintop in the center of the picture. There are several Google Earth 360° photos of the city and Salzach River from this great vantage point, pictures taken in all four seasons. Pray for someone visiting there today to come to the Rock of Ages and find eternal perspective and peace in Him.

2. Mozart’s Geburtshaus is the place of his 1756 birth, where his family lived on the third floor of the building. Today it is a museum. Pray that the most ardent Mozart fan in the world would come to know the greatest music a soul can join, the echo of Revelation 4:10-11.

3. Volksgarten (middle right side) is a park, and Nord Sam (top left corner) is a campground. Pray that a family enjoying each of these places will see God’s fingerprints in the beauty of His creation, and search / believe His Word for life’s answers.

Makhachkala, Dagestan

Pray for the Lord to send out workers to the harvestfield of Makhachkala.

1.   Dagestan is a Russian republic of 3.2 million people. Less than 24 hours ago, an antisemitic mob stormed the pictured airport. Rushing onto the runway, they surrounded an airplane that had flown in from Tel Aviv, in an effort to find individuals with Israeli passports. They also stopped cars leaving the airport to check paperwork in an attempt to identify Israelis. Pray for Jews in Makhachkala who are uneasy about the future to find the answers they need in their Messiah.

2.   Pray for children of all ethnicities in Makhachkala to know the Light of the World – Jesus.

3.   Pray for a Muslim family to realize that they need Jehovah God and the finished redemptive work of Jesus for salvation.
