Arequipa, Peru

Pray for the Lord to send out workers to the harvestfield of Arequipa.

1. Roadside vendors like the one pictured above are common throughout Peru. It is currently summer in Peru, so pray for the salvation of an ice cream roadside vendor in Arequipa.

2. Pray for orphans in Arequipa to come to know the Father of the fatherless through the compassionate care of Christians.

3. Located near four impressive volcanoes, many of Arequipa’s buildings incorporate sillar, a white volcanic stone. For this reason the city has been nicknamed the “White City” (perurail.com). Pray that someone living in one of these sillar homes will also one day receive a white stone from Jesus, as described in Revelation 2:17.

Saturday Morning Recap

Isaiah 46:3-4

Listen to Me, O house of Jacob, and all the remnant of the house of Israel, who have been upheld by Me from birth, who have been carried from the womb: Even to your old age, I am He, and even to gray hairs I will carry you! I have made, and I will bear; even I will carry, and will deliver you.

  1. Special Request: Pray for Asim to hear a complete gospel presentation, and believe.
  2. The Royal Family of England and Boxing Day: Pray for the king’s grandchildren to have Christians in their lives who will reflect and explain the love of Jesus to them.

1.   Pray for the next person who sits at this lakeside pavilion to hear about Jesus, Who alone can meet the deepest needs of the soul.

2.   Built over ninety years ago, Hibernian Hall is listed on the Queensland Heritage Register. Pray for a family planning to attend an event at this community center to meet a Christian family with whom they can develop a friendship, and through that relationship be introduced to the very best Friend of all.

3.  The town of Roma was built in 1867, and named after the wife of the governor of Queensland. Pray for every current girl in the world named Roma to know that Jesus loves her very much.

The Royal Family of England and Boxing Day

https://abcnews.go.com/amp/GMA/Culture/prince-louis-prince-george-princess-charlotte-royal-family/story?id=59166583
  1. Many countries celebrate December 26 as Boxing Day. Tradition states that this holiday started as a way for employers to show appreciation to their employees, because the household servants had been required to work on Christmas Day. The employees would be given the day off work and a box of extra Christmas food, gifts, and money. Boxing Day continues to be celebrated in various ways in different countries. Pray for the true meaning of Christmas to be remembered and celebrated this Boxing Day.
  2. The children in the above picture have been through a difficult year with their mother having cancer. Pray for the Lord to put Christians in their lives who can mirror and explain the love of Jesus to them.
  3. Pray for each of the adults in the above picture to encounter a clear gospel witness, and genuinely turn to Christ for salvation.

Bethlehem, Israel

Pray for the Lord to send out workers to the harvestfield of Bethlehem.

  1. The above photo is from Manger Square. The background building is the Mosque of Omar, which is across the square from the Church of the Nativity. Pray for visitors to the square to be gripped by the veracity and relevance of the Luke 2 record of the Christchild’s birth.
  2. Pray for vendors in the square, such as the cotton candy salesman above, to see the Biblical events as more than just an opportunity to earn an income.
  3. Pray for 3 worshippers at the mosque to see Jesus for Who He really is, and trust Him alone for salvation.

Prayer Walk Intermission

The setup for our prayer walk is that the distances entered on the map route are walked during school hours Monday through Friday. Because of Christmas break from school, TGP will pause the prayer walk, and feature prayer requests from other cities around the world for the next two weeks. The Lord willing, our NYC prayer walk will resume Monday, January 6, 2025.

As always, thank you for praying!

Special Request

Yesterday an individual named Asim was told a few simple words: “Merry Christmas! Jesus loves you.”

His response was courteous, but revealed his need to understand and believe the gospel: “Thank you, ma’am, and I am sure that He loves you the same and even more. Happy holidays to you.”

  1. Pray that the Holy Spirit will keep bringing to Asim’s mind the phrase “Jesus loves you,” and that Asim will want to find out what that really means.
  2. Pray for the Lord to bring other interactions with believers to Asim, and for those believers to have and take the opportunity to present the complete gospel message to him.
  3. Pray for Asim to respond in repentance and faith.
