Trinidad, Bolivia

Pray for the Lord to send out workers to the harvestfield of Trinidad.

1. The pictured building is a social club named the “18th of November.” That date is important in Bolivian history because of an 1841 victory against Peru that solidified Bolivia’s sovereignty as a nation. Pray for a member of the club to personally experience the truth of John 8:36: “Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.”

2. Notice the Coca-Cola emblems that flank the club name on the building. Since WW2, Coca-Cola has successfully spread throughout the world, and is the second most understood term in the world (the first being the word “okay”). The company’s goal is that their product will be “within arm’s reach of desire” to everyone. North Korea and Cuba are the only countries that do not sell Coca-Cola, although it is still smuggled in secretly. Interestingly (since we are praying for a Bolivian city today), in 2012 Bolivia’s foreign minister tried to ban Coca-Cola as an effort to stop Western influence, but was unsuccessful. Like the Coca-Cola company, Christians have a global mission. It is worth taking the time to look up Paul’s words in Acts 17:27, and note how they compare to Coca-Cola’s stated goal. It is sad that more people in the world know about Coca-Cola than know about Jesus Christ. Pray for this to change, and for the gospel to permeate even restricted areas.

3. Trinidad is the Spanish word for “Trinity.” Pray for Christians in the city to have a clear understanding of the Bible’s teaching on the Trinity.
