1 We have heard the joyful sound:
Jesus saves! Jesus saves!
Spread the tidings all around:
Jesus saves! Jesus saves!
Bear the news to ev’ry land,
Climb the steeps and cross the waves;
Onward! ’tis our Lord’s command;
Jesus saves! Jesus saves!
2 Waft it on the rolling tide:
Jesus saves! Jesus saves!
Tell to sinners far and wide:
Jesus saves! Jesus saves!
Sing, ye islands of the sea;
Echo back, ye ocean caves;
Earth shall keep her jubilee:
Jesus saves! Jesus saves!
3 Sing above the battle strife:
Jesus saves! Jesus saves!
By His death and endless life:
Jesus saves! Jesus saves!
Sing it softly through the gloom,
When the heart for mercy craves;
Sing in triumph o’er the tomb:
Jesus saves! Jesus saves!
4 Give the winds a mighty voice:
Jesus saves! Jesus saves!
Let the nations now rejoice:
Jesus saves! Jesus saves!
Shout salvation full and free,
Highest hills and deepest caves;
This our song of victory:
Jesus saves! Jesus saves!
In the “Onward!” attitude highlighted above, Targeted Global Prayer is back. Thank you for understanding as I took a break for a few weeks to have extra time in seeking God with my husband. The Lord has led him to accept an invitation to the pastorate of Open Bible Baptist Church in Cambridge, New York. Our family is in the process of relocating there as soon as possible.
I had considered continuing to pause TGP until the transition to OBBC was complete, but have decided to restart now in a scaled back fashion. As you know, normally each post includes a picture and background information in addition to the three prayer requests. To give more time to tasks related to our move, for the next couple months posts will consist of only the city name, prayer requests, and weekly Scripture reference.
Thank you for understanding, and thank you – as always – for praying! I pray for each of you to find joy and encouragement today in the words of the hymn above; Jesus really does still save and rescue, and we can live unapologetically under that banner of truth. Jesus Saves!
